Nestled on the west end of a peninsula on lovely Fidalgo Island is the popular and inviting nature area know as Washington Park. This expansive city park is about 220 acres in size. Washington Park offers many day use picnic sites and camping sites as well as an impressive boat launch. In addition the park is known for its 2.2-mile long loop road. This winding trail or road accommodates both pedestrian and vehicular traffic, so it is best to be cautious whether you are walking or driving.

Olympic Mountains and The San Juan Islands

With stunningly attractive meadows and forested hills a walk through loop road is relaxing and memorable. Best of all, there are breathtaking views of the majestic Olympic Mountains and the San Juan Islands. Opened to all year round, the park is active from early in the morning beginning at 6am until dusk for those walking, while those traveling by car will have to wait until 10am to make their way through loop road.

Featuring 68 campsites, the campground is well suited for novice and expert campers alike. Many of the campsites have water and electric hook-ups. The line is updated throughout the day and offers information on current campground and boat lot availability.  In addition, the park has a total of three covered picnic shelters along with multiple uncovered picnic tables.

Availability is Limited

There are fire pits and upright barbeques also available to those wishing to cook out and enjoy the wonderful summer weather. For picnic tables or a fire pit as well as a barbeque you’ll have to get there early, as availability is limited and on a first come, first served basis.
